The Vietnam Ministry of Health advises that everyone should wear a face mask at any public places and in a situation of close contact with other people, especially due to the recent events that led to the reactivation of social distancing protocols. Face masks can significantly prevent the virus spreading from an infected person to healthy ones and reduce the virus's spreading speed remarkably if used by everyone at public areas.

Evidences of effectiveness when wearing a face mask

According to the information provided by the U.S CDC, wearing a face mask is recommended as a method of blocking droplets ejected from the respiratory system of people who are suspected to have Covid-19 into the air and to other people when coughing or talking, this is a neccesery method of controlling the source of infection. The results from clinical and labatory research show that wearing a face mask correctly can greatly reduce the ejection of droplets from mouth and nose. Covid-19 commonly spreads between people who are in close contact (distancing from 1.5 up to 2 meters), that is why the recommendation of wearing a face mask is crucial at crowded public areas or at places where social distancing protocols face many limitations.
